The New BBC Emma vs. Gwyneth Paltrow's Emma
Last night I finished the watching the new BBC Emma with Romola Garai as Emma and Jonny Lee Miller as Mr. Knightley. I didn't like it very much at first, but by the third episode, it was growing on me. :) Now I absolutely love it!! I like the new Emma because the story is much better expanded; And because of the length of the movie, changes in the characters were much more prevalent and you could see real changes in Emma a lot easier. I also like Romola much better in this than in Amazing Grace. She is dressed more modestly than in AG and I like Emma better than Barbara Spooner (Romola's character in AG). I liked Jonny Lee Miller instead of Jeremy Northam as Mr. K. Also, (even though he's one of my favorite actors) Ewan McGregor wasn't as good as Rupert Evans for Frank Churchill. Plus, Ewan's hair was dreadful in the Paltrow version. ;) And Mrs. Elton in this new BBC Emma - she was worse than ever (making the story even richer)!! And Michael Gambon did a great job as Mr.Woodhouse; better than in the Paltrow version of Emma. If you haven't seen it then you can on YouTube by clicking here.
If you have seen it, then what do you think? Even if you differ in opinion from me about it, I'd still like to get your thoughts on it; don't worry, I won't be offended. :)

I watched the new Emma and am HUGE fan!!! I like all the characters better in this version. Romola Garai is an amazing actress and fits the role of Emma perfectly. I also loved Mr. Knightly!! Great Movie!!!!!!
Also, have you heard of The Young Victoria? It is coming to theaters on Dec 18. I saw a special showing of it in Seattle last week and it is amazing!! I highly recommend it.

Yes, I have heard of The Young Victoria. I saw the trailer and I am very interested now. :) I also noticed that Rupert Friend who plays Mr.Wickham in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice... He looks a LOT like Orlando Bloom. Thanks for the comment. :)
