John Adams
Recently, I watched an HBO mini-series called John Adams based on the narrative book by the same title written by David McCullough. Both are about the life of John Adams and the first 50 years of the United States.
It stars:
Paul Giamatti as John Adams (left),
Laura Linney as Abigail Adams (John's wife; right),
Stephen Dillane
as Thomas Jefferson (left),
Tom Wilkinson
as Benjamin Franklin (right).
David Morse as George Washington (left), and Danny Huston as Sam Adams (right).
My rating: 41/2 star
Would I watch it again? Yes.
Would I recommend it? Yes.
My notes: This mini series is 4 1/2 star for one reason - a couple of the episodes have brief nudity (i.e. there is a tarring and feathering scene in one episode), otherwise I would rate it as a 5 star. I would say it is a medium PG-13. It is about the same level as the Patriot (though not so much bloodshed). It helped me understand that time period better and helped me visualize it, as well as make me gain a larger interest in that time in history (my other favorite part of history is the Jane Austen time period :)). It is extremely educational, as well as exceptionally done (it is produced by Tom Hanks). If you have seen this, please comment and tell me what you think. If you haven't seen this - then do so! :)

I've been wanting to read the book John Adams for a long time because I loved 1776 by the same author and I've heard this one is even better. Hehe, those pictures of the characters in the movie make them all look really grumpy. :) I'm glad it was good.
