Birthday Joke

So these are the presents from the triple birthday party we had - mine, an uncle's, and a sibling's. There is a reason for me showing and telling you this... there's a story about the gray/silver wrapped present.

Ok, so my uncle that we were sharing a b-day party with wraps presents really, REALLY well. Like... hermetically sealing each seam with scotch tape. :) He's done this for as long as I can remember. :D

Well, us nieces and nephews have warned him before that someday we were going to wrap his present like how he wraps them (just for fun) - make him work to open his present. This year we finally followed through with this threat (all in good fun of course). :D

Now I'm going to tell you the layers - yes, I said LAYERS - we did on this present.

Layer 1: This is the layer that you see. We wrapped a good sized box in the silver paper, doing an ordinary job. My uncle unwrapped that layer in a breeze. :)

So he opens Layer 1, and finds another box (Layer 2): Also wrapped in wrapping paper. But the seams are hermetically sealed. Well, that doesn't take too long...

Now he gets to Layer 3: Which is NOT wrapped in paper, but in.... DUCT TAPE!! :D My favorite. Good, old fashioned, gray duct tape. Holds anything together. ;) This box takes him quite... a... while... :D!!!

Now he get's onto the final layer, Layer 4: His gift wrapped in wrapping paper, but the wrapping paper is completely covered in clear packing tape. :D

Then he finally get's his present. A gift card - to iTunes. All that for a gift card. Oh, and might I add that we had put a couple rocks in each layer to give the box a little weight. ;) Aren't we so bad? :D

And one more thing... we timed him. Yes, we recorded the whole thing on video. His time? 10 min. 22 sec. Thank goodness he has a sense of humor, and took this as the joke it was meant to be. :D

Anyone have a great b-day story? :D
